I personally just ignore it all. I have traveled the world and understand religious beliefs better than most and have written extensively about it. When one understands the history of the human condition and it's fears and psyche, it's really quite simple. I live and let live. But I am a gadfly of sorts and like to stimulate others to think outside of their so very limited box from time to time. It takes courage that many just do not have. So be it! Have a good day.

The OP is an interesting question to ponder, particularly why atheists would contribute to the continuation of a religious observance that they believe is based on a myth.

Because it's fun.

I'm not part of any movement. I'm not trying to influence anyone. I'm not trying to advance any agenda. I'm not out knocking on doors or stumping on a corner. I simply don't believe.

Let me ask you this: do you have children? Did you do the Santa Claus thing with them? It's also a myth. Is asking why Christians would participate in the Santa myth also an interesting question to ponder or is the answer obvious?

I always love these threads

OP asks “honest” question and receives honest answers, but he ignores all of those and just keeps doubling down to reinforce his own beliefs

It happens all the time here
