My thoughts are similar to yours. From personal experiences, I believe that the actual bullet/projectile used has everything to do with wound channel. Since mid 80's my go to rifle has been a 257 Roberts. At 1st was a BLR. I was shooting Nosler partition and was almost always getting a pass through. In '90 got a Ruger 257 Roberts because it was a long action and I had it free bored a bit so I wouldn't have to seat th bullet as deep therefore allowing more powder. Started off reloading 100 gr Nosler ballast tips. They were 'hot' but not getting any pass throughs. Was finding cup with no lead in it when cleaning the deer. Bullet was fragmenting like hell. Switched 115 gr bullets were not much better. The wound channels were very bizarre at times to say the least, especially if rib was clipped on entry. Ended up switching bullets.
Someone said something about buckshot. In late '60's shot a buck at 20 yards broadside in the middle of his brisket with 12 ga 3" mag #1 buckshot and not a one of the 24 pellets exited!

Yeah I love my Glock 20. It’s my home defense pistol.

XDM with a 5.25" barrel. They do not make that length anymore.

I do have some low recoil loads for Home defense, but the AR pistol has better sight radious and twice the ammo.

People ignore all the case reports of 30 cal rounds not exiting the human body. MLK was shot in the jaw with a 30-06 and it didn't exit.

No, the bullet that killed Martin Luther King Jr. did not exit his body. It entered on the right side of his face and lodged near his left shoulder.

The trajectory of the bullet was determined by medical and forensic examiners:
The bullet struck him in the lower right side of his face, shattering his jawbone.
It traveled through his neck, causing devastating damage to several major blood vessels and severing his spinal cord.

It then crossed over to the left side of his body, lodging near his left shoulder blade.

The bullet was later retrieved during the autopsy.

The bullet did exit his head. Don’t ignore that.

Oh really… :/

What was the bullet weight? Design? How about the grain? You know “all” about those details?

He was shot with a .30-06 at close range with an unknown projectile that stopped under the skin. It isn't far fetched at all,

I'm not claiming to be an expert by any means.... but I do not believe that a 30.06 round (any grain) would not exit when entering in a human neck. I've haunted deer and shot firearms for the last 40 years. I've shot deer with 7mm, .308, 30.06, buckshot. .280, caliber rifles.
It doesn't make me an expert, but..

How do you explain the video that clearly shows Charlies t-shirt pushed outward by some obvious force(that looks like some type of armor vest)?????

Did u watch the video?

That's the worst comparison example I've ever heard. Shotgun buck shot to 30 06? That's like comparing a vintage Daisy pump BB gun to a .177 Gammo.

A 180gr core lokt would have made a nasty mess.

Shoot an opossum or a raccoon, which I would think could represent a human neck decently, with a 180gr core lokt and examine the damage. It would be a wreck.

I'm confused. Please tell exactly where did I make a comparison of buckshot to a 30 06? Granted I probably could have made it easier to follow in case you did not read or possibly don't remember 2 posts on page 4 of this thread. One states "Hell- a buckshot pellet hitting where that thing hit would have been a through and through wound". The very next post in response to that posted was "At 200 yards? Damn!". No where did I make the comparison you stated I made.

Oh, and still prefer my old .22 Benjamin pump I got for Christmas in '61 over my son's .177 Gammo
