It might be. Gratuitous violence and stylistic nonsense are Hollywood's stock in trade.

As a quick follow up, Fox News as grabbed a hold of this story and currently has it as a lead on their website.
I predict this movie gets yanked like "The Interview" and will end up as a direct to steaming.

I watched the trailers in the link and it appears to cast the elites as the bad guys and the hunted as the heroes turning the tables.
