I was just coming to post a retraction after watching the full statement posted by Angelle.
I wasn't paying that close attention at the time---a function of multitasking and distrust of Seraphin. But, it seems clear Friend WAS referring to Patel specifically.
Friend being independent from the FBI is a good development for all involved.

I agree now. My attention wasn't fully on the podcast when I watched it. Clearly, he was referring to Patel. You're right.

That certainly seems plausible. I would assume a FBI agent knows that any comment that could be interpreted as a veiled threat of violence to anyone — much less the FBI Director — is a serious and punishable transgression.
I further assume everybody — regardless of their profession — knows that insinuating that their boss should be in jail should expect to be fired. And certainly an agent in the FBI.

It happens. Especially in this era of real-time breaking news in which we must piece together the facts of a story from partial video clips posted on social media that often are disseminated by partisan influencers pushing fabricated narratives.
In this digital media environment, it is thus all too easy to misconstrue comments, miss context and even succumb to fake news. Kudos to you for acknowledging the mistake and correcting it.

That statement - if directed at Patel, his boss - is grandiose hyperbole more fitting of this Form than high level bureaucratic policy disagreements aired in high profile media. Over the line.
We are all frustrated with the slow progress re the corruption and rightfully distrusting of the FBI but this is unhelpful.
