Here's What Happened to Fast-Food Restaurants When California Increased the Minimum Wage

Of course, Newsome exempted his buddy who runs Panera by putting in some ridiculous amendment about bread. He exempted stores that were adjacent to airports, too. Of course, almost everybody else has been hurt by this.
How convenient. It reminds me of Congress exempting themselves from Obamacare.

This is a win for progressive voters.
More people dependent on the government.

They'll just open a daycare instead to offset their losses.

that Panera exemption is so egregious

I disagree with them increasing minimum wage like they did, but honestly, fast food needs to go away. It's garbage food.

That was my daughter’s first job when she was in high school. I think they started her at $16 an hour and that was 12-13 years ago. They take care of their people. She let me know about their hidden menu. Get the fries “fry well” or animal style and you can get a 4x4 burger which is basically two double doubles. There are/were other options too. Now I’m craving it.

CA has a special way to spin things like that. "Weight of the cooled bread"
