Did you send this to the president? He can use a good soldier like yourself.

How many young to middle aged people in otherwise healthy condition would likely end up in the ICU due to this virus?

We need to take it seriously and simply prepare.
How burdened were hospitals with the 265,000 inpatients due to H1N1 in 2009? Is there any site that estimates the total number of mechanical ventilators in the country?

Yeah right! You tell us not to panic and then you proceed to detail why everyone should panic. Enough with the fear mongering. The elderly are going to take a hit, we know that. But the elderly and those with immune deficiencies take a hit every flu season.
Please stop it!!

Care will necessarily be rationed and there will be less availability to treat all sorts of OTHER issues at that time.
Sounds like Death Panels to me.

Hopefully all these sports arenas are being turned into triage units and morgues to deal with the carnage that everyone is expecting...

I’m not worried about legitimately sick people getting the care they need in the US.
I am, however, worried about hordes of people who have already caused a toilet paper shortage over a respiratory infection overwhelming Emergency Rooms in a panicked stampede caused by CNN, prohibiting care of legitimately ill people as a result of the irresponsible fear mongering disguised as news.
Seriously.
frick the DNCartel of Media Outlets. They have spread panic and misinformation and shut down our economy. I hate Them.

I’m fine with a certain percentage of the population dying off. We’re overdue for a plague.

Hence the need to “shut it down” momentarily.
Flatten the curve so the hospitals aren’t overwhelmed

We have the military. I was in Iraq and we had an 1100 bed hospital with 17 ORs and a 135 bed ICU all in tents.
