Do you struggle with reading comprehension? Victim (Chicago) or victims (South Carolina). Both crimes are committed with the thought in mind the victim is sub-human or not human at all. Both are equally heinous. Dylan Roof will (eventually) forfeit his life because of the crimes he committed. And not a moment too soon.
Stop focusing on demonstrating faux outrage and see this is an assault on the basic humanity of the victims. That is the matter at hand.

Based on the details of the story in the link you provided, the guy should face a similar charge as the Chicago 4. However, his crime was not videoed and he did plea bargain to a felony, which indicates the DA may not have had a strong case or they needed his testimony to convict the others.
It's hard to compare cases tried in local courts in completely different states with different circumstances.
But if the story is true, frick that guy and he could get a bullet and I wouldn't care.

I have not followed this story or watched/read much news in last week.
So is this the crux of the alleged crime, I put alleged since well you know.
1. 4 Chicago teens/early 20's attack special needs teenager.
2. Film the attack and post on Facebook
3. Police find and arrest
4. 4 defendants are now being charged with hate crimes due to race and special needs.
Is that the general story?
