I would postulate both parties are ok with this.

The Dems just think everybody else shares their views and openly promote it.

The Republicans (not MAGA, not Populists to be clear) are also for it based on their lack of results in this arena when they have the ability to head such things off in the past. Also noting they haven't chosen to use the power of the purse since the 80's either. Mayorkas had his budget increased with every CR and Omnibus except the most recent one. Never did they stop him from moving money from, for example, FEMA to give to illegal's processing/handouts.
