Has Covid19 made nuclear weapons nearly obsolete?

It’s pretty scary knowing there are scientists all around the world conducting experiments with bacteria and viruses. Wait you say? We need to understand this microbiological world and the effects these little critters have on humankind…..I agree but that’s not the experiments I’m concerned about.

What’s going on in various labs around the world is the manipulation of genetic material in various organisms and in particular viruses.

When scientists can create genetically modified viruses that have the ability to target a certain demographic such as ethnicity, age, or some genetic profile….and then this virus can be released inconspicuously…..well, we’ve entered a new era of warfare.

Maybe nuclear weapons aren’t really obsolete, maybe they’re just not the preferred weapon of mass destruction anymore.

For example, I don't hope that a foreign power infests the DC beltway with Covid19, I hope that said power detonates a high yield nuclear weapon there instead.
