Biden is not responsible for the Afghan army and government leaders deserting. We can only hope that our country will never nation build again. The Afghan people were given the keys to a huge military and democratic government build up at great cost to America and it’s allies. It’s shocking how fast the Afghans have chosen Taliban rule. After Viet Nam and now this, did we finally learn our lesson?

Thank you Donald Tump for making the decision to leave so the Afghan people can govern themselves and Joe Biden for following through to end this huge cost to our nation.

The only positive for us was the economic benefits of nation building Afghanistan and what we hopefully will learn from this.

Man, I appreciate the shout out but Afghanistan is a quagmire and it's too complex to pin it down to one person or president. It's a cumulative clusterfrick that all presidents share a blame in.

Not sure when exactly our government became incompetent- but it is worthless. This country isn’t something to be proud of anymore. We are the number one exporter of filth and mental illness

The article says this:

quote:

Mr. Biden released a lengthy statement in which he blamed Mr. Trump for at least part of the unfolding disaster. He said, “I inherited a deal cut by my predecessor” which “left the Taliban in the strongest position militarily since 2001 and imposed a May 1, 2021, deadline on U.S. forces.”

He said when he took office, he had a choice: abide by the deal or “ramp up our presence and send more American troops to fight once again in another country’s civil conflict.”

“I was the fourth president to preside over an American troop presence in Afghanistan — two Republicans, two Democrats,” Mr. Biden said. “I would not, and will not, pass this war onto a fifth.”

What exactly about that is wrong?

You aren't? The right wing has slowly starved even good civic government of any credit or nurturing the past 40 years. And you are surprised at the outcome?

The left controls the media, big tech, academia, Hollywood, etc. But yes, it is ALL the right wing’s fault!

That's fine and all, but whatever plan this administration had for not passing this on has failed spectacularly.

He had 4 years to figure out how to not pass it on, he succeeded in pulling out in 7 months followed with significant need to send in more of our men and women to the region than he inherited.

He and the media can play the blame game all they want, but the fact is this event in squarely in his lap, under his rule, and they are responsible for the future deaths and human abuses that are just beginning to take place.
