Why does the Trump campaign team keep accepting these deals?
It would have been a terrible look to reject a solo Town Hall while Harris accepted one.

Is that what triggers you about him? Your passive approach to life, while he goes out and does the men’s work??

Univision will supply the questions to the audience members to ask on place cards and Kamala will have those questions weeks before the townhall. Trump will absolutely not know the questions and Univision will have some loaded questions for Trump. This is just as dumb as doing the previous 2 debates. They should have learned their lesson after the 1st debate. Kamala will not do anything she doesn't have control over. She will not even do the Al Frankin dinner. Trump is making another huge mistake here

do you suggest that Trump should’ve run from the debate, decline to show up?
He should've said that he's more than happy to debate Biden, but he's going to wait until after both conventions when both candidates are certified by their delegates as per the normal process.

Only if:
Both town-halls are held concurrent in separate studios for each candidate.
Ten questions presented in the same order for each candidate.
Each side provides five questions.
No opinions, commentary, or "fact-checking" allowed from moderators.
Pre-recorded town-halls are aired within four hours of completion.
Coin-toss determines who's town hall is aired first.
No double-sided coins.
I would like to see this.

Agree to disagree. He'll do fine and she'll look like the same turd she does in public settings like Oprah's thing.

No he should have told them I am not a idiot that will accept a June debate and allow you to switch candidates before your August convention. Even Trump at one of his rally kept saying "why did I do that June debate". A September debate with Biden would have had Trump winning the election by historical numbers with the Senate and the House

Not sure why he would do his in Florida which is a non-battleground state, when she is doing hers in Nevada which a battleground state. they should be doing them both in Nevada, or he should at least do it in Arizona.

I didn't watch that. Did she do poorly? That had to be the greatest softball interview ever.

As expected, the lasting images from it are cringe-inducing clips of her weirdness and fakeness. The more she's on camera in settings like this, the better.

On the bad side is that Harris gets a sneak peak at the questions and should be able to prepare better for her responses.
This is exactly what is going to happen. Kamala does not do events that she does not have full control of. I swear some people just love to be abused
Trump also says he was not doing a debate in October because it was too late but now he does this? They are going to point to this as he was afraid to debate Kamala again. This is a poor decision on a number of fronts

That was going to happen whether Trump agreed to do one or not.

No it wouldn't, after the ABC debacle people understand why he wouldn't attend events that Kamala would be given the questions. He also said he wasn't doing another debate because it's to late but he agrees to do this? That contradicts his position. Trump and his campaign have handled these decisions as poorly as possible

So then you conclude that Harris won the debate? If so then why hasn’t she gotten the least of gains from that?
Here’s a big picture take on it, one of many: did Harris answer any actual voter concerns as to what her positions and platform even is? Or as was my perception, did she literally have a script of memorized generic responses that were designed to work for any given questions? And if you agree with my perception in at least that sole regard, then the question should then become why was she not able to?
Then the bottom line question in this specific instance: do you think she’ll suddenly have decent and specific answers to the aforementioned concerns and curiosities of the voters, or will she have to resort to pretty much the same exact script of memorized generic responses of only a short few weeks ago? If so, I assume you would immediately say “These are the exact same responses as last time” which believe it or not more people than you might think will also immediately notice. She has much more to lose in any of these scenarios than Trump. She’s a one trick pony, and the one trick isn’t even very good.

Yep, Harris won the rigged debate on form but lost voters. The faces she made and empty answers were what voters took from it.

Solo Town Halls are not debates.
Look, I agree he should not have debated Biden in June. He was being used to kill off Biden's candidacy. Of course, none of us knew that beforehand but it was still too early to agree to a debate.
He'll do well in his town hall and continue overall gains with Latin voters moving forward. She'll look like the phony she is.

Correct. So don't make it 10x worse and giving it Oxygen by accepting a town hall that gives them the chance to make you look stupid like Univision will certainly do, just like ABC tried to do

Why would Trump do this?
Gain more Hispanics.
If Kamala does this and Trump doesn't this could look bad for Trump.
Kamala has a lot more to lose here than Trump.
