No Independence Day would be complete without mass shootings and gun violence. Dozens of casualties just in Philadelphia and Como, Fort Worth, TX overnight.
The framers of the Constitution had access to muskets, blunderbuss and pistols when they included a 2nd Amendment-- not military-style assault weapons capable of lethal mayhem nearly instantaneously. They knew what they were doing when they wrote it, and would be appalled at the way it's been abused recently.

They had the most state of the art military equipment of the time, including cannons.
