I have a funny story about that

My first year out of school, I went from never making any money to about $130,000.

They took all the taxes out twice a month for my check. Never had any issues.

Come income tax refund time, NOW they want me to answer these questions to verify my identity, like how old my grandmother was or which of the following 5 addresses had I lived at in the last 5 years…

They didn’t have any trouble verifying my identity nor were they interested if I was who I said I was, to tax me out the arsehole but only then needed verification for me to get my money back that I had overpaid

Frick the IRS with a hot poker

Exactly

Didn't sniffy Joe just hire 87K new IRS agents? I'm sure this will all be corrected....

When they want our money it’s. Right. Now.

Government employees mantra: “You need me. I don’t need you.”

I couldn't manage to navigate through the fortress of the IRS just to have them re-send me an EIN number. They literally couldn't find it. I wound up having to apply for a whole new one adding one extra letter so I could move on with my life.

So not only are you being harassed and bilked for money, but they are forcing you to burn fossil fuels and contribute to climate change.

I've had dealings with the local Montgomery IRS agents. It's lovely when your office calls you, and says two agents are there to talk to you. Long story short, I had a very trusted employee who was embezzling, cooking the books to cover her tracks, showing me false filings, and not paying the payroll taxes.

The State of Alabama was actually the one I was most afraid of. The Revenue Department does not screw around. The IRS agents really didn't give 2 shits. Just putting in their 8 hours, enjoying that federal pay and benefits.

Some of the dumbest people I’ve ever spoken to work for the IRS.

Why the FairTax doesn't have support of 90% of Americans is a modern mystery.
