No you didn't.

And I'm sitting in a RZR in the middle of a field on my phone.

It is one example where a different country's gun laws would have altered the outcome which is what you asked.

OK, explain why. You should be able to do this, even from your phone, assuming you know what you're talking about.

Why don't those places ahve the same violence problem Chicago has?

Chicago has a gang bang culture that partly revolves around having guns. Big gun culture among the gang bangers in Chicago

Need more community leaders up there to step up and stop that shite. They won't though

Legislation is the only answer. We pass a law that feral hogs can only reproduce at a 1:1 ratio.

Sort of self-controlled sex amongst ferals. Don't think that will work, but government funded feral abortion included in ACA could be an option?

Like have your cake and eat it.

No, see, we'll be super serious about the legislation. They'll have to listen. Think of the children...in the streets!!

I'd like to know why you think this law that you don't appear to know anything about would have prevented this shooting.

You shouldn't have any issues explaining it.

If you aren't going to explain it, I suggest conceding and moving on.

I invented this game. You'll lose.

i've discussed most of the specifics you've listed, and most are non-starters, irrational, or downright scary

Nothing I listed is a non-starter, irrational, or downright scary except that you've bought into the propaganda and lies spewed from the NRA for a generation.

They're all in place in other countries, and those countries aren't exactly 1984-esque Oceania.

We have all 4.

Why are you for those, but against common-sense gun control?

It's both.

And thinking that your living in bumfrick Louisiana your entire life grants you some special insight into why you need more and more powerful guns that are being used to murder Americans is the height of ignorance.

The numbers used to arrive at those odds include suicides committed with firearms

A suicide is a use of your gun on one of your family members.

As I said, a gun in the home is vastly more likely to be used on the homeowner or one of their family members than in self-defense.

Look, you learned something new! Congratulations to you!

Why do major cities in Indiana, Wisconsin, Missouri, Texas, or Florida not have the same gun violence problem as Chicago if it they are supplying the guns?

A combination of factors including gangs, population density, poverty, etc.

not an NRA member and never have been

i don't think i've ever read more than 5 pieces of media from the NRA in my life, and all were following Sandy Hook

quote:

They're all in place in other countries, and those countries aren't exactly 1984-esque Oceania.

i mean we're talking about countries in Western Europe who are not nearly as free as the US. hell they regulate speech

they're not 1984 but they're scary as hell and i'd never live there b/c of their absolute disrespect for individual rights

i'm not happy with the state of the attack on our rights in the US, and we're much more free than Europe. my goal is to reduce government to make us all more free, not support the eradication of rights that you find in the countries you're praising

One could just as easily say "more people are killed every day due to our insufficient murder laws."

In what ways are our laws prohibiting murder deficient in relation to other comparable wealthy and peaceful countries?

And in what ways can we strengthen those laws to be in line with said countries, that has been demonstrated time and again to lower the "murder" rate?

Because we know the answer to those questions for gun control.

The countries we're talking about consistently have the highest quality of life and happiness/satisfaction scores of any countries in the world. That's more a you problem than a them problem, Galt.

Now it’s true that the risk of homicide is greater in big cities than it is in the countryside.

while for people ages 20 to 44, the risk of firearm deaths were much higher in urban areas.

that is the age range with the highest rate of death by firearm
