Its already happened in the US. Portland and Minneapolis ring any bells.

The incumbent president is effectively on the ballot of every single midterm election without exception. It is a direct referendum of how good or bad the voters feel POTUS is doing.

This always being true, there’s not a decent political strategist on the planet that would argue otherwise.

What’s the upside of pretending for a bunch of anonymous strangers on the internet that you don’t know how anything works?

The truth you Leftists are blinded to by your short-sighted TDS: Trump is at his worst when he doesn't have an enemy to rail against. For the 2016 election it wasn't just "Hillary" but the whole political machine which brought us increased illegals, NAFTA (which leached industrial/manufacturing from Democrat strongholds), etc. After the election it was the sham "Muh Collusion" investigation.

He didn't really have anything in 2020 as the media was shutting him down on anything he tried to gin up ("OMG!11 He called is a 'China virus'! Oh, the racismzness!11") and prior to that the economy was strong, wages were rising and inflation was fairly non-existent.

In 2024 he had all sorts of ammo. The slew of faux charges and the obviousness of them being attempted solely to keep him from running for President again, the absolute onslaught of illegals not only allowed in by the Biden administration but facilitated by it as well, the absolute embarrassment of the Afghanistan pullout, the assassination attempts (especially the one that clipped his ear), etc.

That brings us to today. Imagine what happens with DoJ investigations on the level of Ilhan Omar and her possible status as not legally being allowed to hold Congressional office (not to mention possibly being here illegally) or the Feeding Our Future scam run by her sister and possibly participated in by other high-level elected officials, etc.

When he's been backed into a corner as the Dems decided to Impeach him out of office but he still has the power of investigations and isn't really beholden to any M.A.D. philosophy because of his lame-duck status... that's not a scenario Democrats in Congress (and probably a few Republicans) want to be in if they have anything to hide (the Congressional slush fund for sexual harassment suits, for just a quick and easy example off the top of my head).
