I mentioned this in a thread yesterday. Them not carrying ammo is common procedure in the military, and it was true even when I served more than 30 years ago.

So them not being armed isn't surprising to me at all, I kind of figured they were.

It's likely because aside from the MP, you are not trained for these things. You're taught how to kill people, not how to control populations.

This probably varies by state since that's who typically controls them. The NG was issued ammo in Miami after Hurricane Andrew but I don't think the active duty troops were.

Remember all of the Afghan men we used as interpreters, etc. and then left to be slaughtered. Men with families.
