Senate Rejects Bipartisan Immigration Plan Offered by Moderates
quote:
WASHINGTON — The Senate on Thursday rejected consideration of a bipartisan immigration plan that would have bolstered border security, funded a wall on the southern frontier and resolved the fate of the so-called Dreamers, after President Trump and administration officials waged a fierce, daylong campaign to discredit the measure.
The bill, drafted by a group called the Common Sense Coalition, fell 54-45, six votes short of the 60 votes required for the Senate to consider it not long after the White House issued a veto threat. The vote came as lawmakers are weighing a series of immigration proposals, including a far more hard-line approach that meets conditions set by President Trump.

@realDonaldTrump
The Schumer-Rounds-Collins immigration bill would be a total catastrophe. @DHSgov says it would be “the end of immigration enforcement in America.” It creates a giant amnesty (including for dangerous criminals), doesn’t build the wall, expands chain migration, keeps the visa...
...lottery, continues deadly catch-and-release, and bars enforcement even for FUTURE illegal immigrants. Voting for this amendment would be a vote AGAINST law enforcement, and a vote FOR open borders. If Dems are actually serious about DACA, they should support the Grassley bill!

yes, please.
every time the dems pull this shite trump should say
"the # of undocumented with paths to citizenship just got 10% smaller"
so DACA can freak the frick out as dems turn down proposal after proposal each getting worse than the one before.

I realize we gave the world the Clintons, but...
Thanks, Carolina.

Good. The Democrats will come running to the table to really negotiate when the court rules DACA is illegal.

We also gave the world Jim DeMint, Strom Thurmond, Tim Scott, Niki Haley, Trey Gowdy, etc.
So what is it Arkansas gave us again ... besides the Clintons I mean?
Thanks in advance for your answer since you evoked us in the same light as Bill and Hillary.
But yeah, Graham sucks donkey balls.

How did Senators Cassidy and Kennedy from Louisiana vote on the matter?
I was calling their offices all morning and they wouldn't comment one way or another on how their boss intended to vote.
