CNN anchor Ana Cabrera on Sunday called out President Trump for failing to go to Vietnam until he was equipped with "Secret Service protection" after the president renewed his attacks against late Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.).

Cabrera made the comments while noting that Trump has yet to forcefully denounce white supremacy in light of the mosque shootings that left dozens dead in New Zealand.
quote:

Trump railed against McCain on multiple occasions over the weekend after reports surfaced that one of the then-senator's associates had shared a dossier of allegations about Trump's ties to Russia with the media.

"So it was indeed (just proven in court papers) 'last in his class' (Annapolis) John McCain that sent the Fake Dossier to the FBI and Media hoping to have it printed BEFORE the Election," Trump tweeted on Sunday. "He & the Dems, working together, failed (as usual). Even the Fake News refused this garbage!"

He also said on Twitter on Saturday that McCain's vote against the GOP Senate's 2017 attempt to repeal ObamaCare was a "stain" on his career.

Spreading the fake and totally discredited Dossier “is unfortunately a very dark stain against John McCain.” Ken Starr, Former Independent Counsel. He had far worse “stains” than this, including thumbs down on repeal and replace after years of campaigning to repeal and replace!

The tweets prompted widespread criticism almost immediately.

"As to @SenJohnMcCain and his devotion to his country: He stepped forward to risk his life for his country, served honorably under difficult circumstances, and was one of the most consequential senators in the history of the body,"

Graham said on Twitter shortly after Trump's latest attack on Sunday. "Nothing about his service will ever be changed or diminished"

"No one will ever love you the way they loved my father...." McCain's daughter, Meghan, tweeted on Saturday.

But Cabrera noted on CNN that other Republican voices "have been quiet" regarding Trump's attacks on a senator who was deeply critical of him.

McCain gets called to the carpet for colluding with Russia and setting up a President in a DNC/HRC/Obama coup. CNN takes a swipe at Trump for not going to war in Vietnam and Graham nor Megan address the coup attempt of McCain.

Did CNN address the dossier or coup, or just bash Trump? This is insane; and Graham needs to address McCain's role in the coup and whether he was in on it as well?

First off, when did CNN become war hawks?
Secondly, a man can both serve honorably for the military and then be a wormy, weasel of a Senator.

He served honorably, as any active duty service member-- no one can take that away. Regarding his war hero status he was showboating and got shot down and caused a carrier fire. So he isn't a hero.

Turncoats have no honor in my eyes. Siding with the democrats and being a neocon isn't honorable. He is now CNN's fav what does that tell us?

Voting for John McCain is one off the more shameful things I've done in my lifetime.

"Forcefully" denounce?

WTF?

And they are silent because Trump is right.

McCain was a backstabbing SOB that put HIMSELF before country, state and party in every instance.

No one will ever refer to her father as President of the United States of America.

Miss Lindsey was a huge fan of McCain, then shortly after his death, became one of Trumps biggest cheerleaders. What caused her to change? There is some specific event that caused the big turnaround but I have yet to figure out what it is.

it's simple, he likes to golf @ high end resorts; and he knows he loses re-election as a neverTrumper.

I don't trust him anymore than Romney or Ryan. A lot of people painstakingly thought Ryan came around when Trump won.

If anyone doesn't believe in the Deep State, think about this for a minute.

The only choice we had after Bush was McCain and Romney. Both are basically Democrats.

If you go back to Bush and figure out that he's part of it, then the last "Real" choice was back with Reagan.

And Hinckley taught him what would happen if he didn't do what the deep state wanted.
