Pretty sure I'd still have to come to work.

At least you’ll have the peace of mind of knowing you’re essential personnel and not run the risk of being laid off.

The hell for? To psychologically abuse naval officers, make spurious accusations, and try to drug us? We have that one covered.

They interviewed a lot of Republicans on it earlier today. Sounds like they will throw the kitchen sink into the CR to give them until after the holidays.

This. It would be another embarrassment for Democrats.

Just a quick note, because I've been there. During Gov shutdowns military still has to go to work under the threat of no pay, even in the rear. So it's not a vacay for all Fed personnel.

There are already statute holidays declared and a bunch of people will have already taken leave anyway to take advantage of the short week.

Plus the leave year (for many agencies including mine) ends January 5. Which means (except for very rare cases) if you don't use your leave by then you lose it and can't get it restored.

I have at least two on my staff who left on Monday and I won't see them for two more weeks.

So yes it's quite dead around the office.

House and Senate passed another stopgap bill.

The new date is January 19 to see if we avoid all this mess again.
