Democrat controlled cities with leaders who want this to continue to hurt Trump. They normally appease criminals rather than protecting citizens anyway so it's not much of a stretch for them.

That’s called murder, not self defense. In America you can’t kill people for entering your neighborhood, even if they have to hop a gate to do so.

Your lie was clear for everyone to see. It’s ok.

We’ve done this before and you finally admitted it.

Just don’t loot in the burbs and you’ll be fine.

Care to name the neighborhood in question? My wife heard there's supposed to be something going on soon in the future City of St. George (where we live), but had no details.

We heard the same thing in Alabama. I’m starting to think it’s a disinformation campaign.

You may be a smart guy (debatable) but you don't know shot about house fires. A house can go up in five minutes - I've seen it.

Self defense/stand your ground, even if third parties, doesn’t eliminate the standard of reasonableness. Seeing someone start a house fire is not sufficient imminent threat of harm. It takes a while for a house to catch fire. The only imminent threat is to property not people

Well, the hypothetical question posed was the torching of the home of a neighbor where the neighbor and their family were inside at the time. The reasonableness of the use of force was sort of implied in my explanation.

honestly though, I think many suburb people afraid to shoot people who are likely not armed..
If they approach my home with a brick, they’re getting some 12 gauge 7 1/2 birdshot (not lethal unless very close).

Molotov cocktail, they’re getting several 5.56 slugs at 3025 ft/s.

This is true in many states, and expressly stated in their laws (CO and AZ for example). It’s not explicit in the statute in AL, which was directly asked about. Not explicit in LA either. Honestly I haven’t done full case law research on this, but would imagine that it’s not automatic if not included in the statute.
Law or not, there’s not a jury out there that would convict a homeowner who shoots a rioter attempting to throw a Molotov cocktail at their home.
