I myself need to look into it more. I was just pointing out quick examples and like I said it comes down to greed. Desertification is because of greed and over using the land. Add in change in the environment like a drought and it's disasterous. More than just reports and what not. Desertification is happening more places than just here too. There is a shift and climates are changing in areas it once wasn't affecting.
We're the same. My inclination is always that energy is neither gained nor lost. Mass in a system is neither gained nor lost. Everything is just a transfer. We need to quit placing blame in order to punish each other and just focus on finding best practices for the future

Maybe that only exists in your mind??
What, in your mind, constitutes someone being "upset"?

I agree.
This thread is a cluster and could be spread 40 different ways but it will just make it worse. That's why I'm trying to stick with my original argument. There is way more to this, a lot we still don't even know, and I'm not going to spin off my argument just to get upvotes.
I posted to educate on what I have learned which is very small, but still an eye opener. I'm not here to troll and ppl arguing with me just laugh or immediately disregard it. That's why we have issues. Like I said, no one has to change their mind because of me, but don't laugh or disregard someone because they believe differently.

But wouldn't it make sense that this is because of man?
No. It's unscientific or pseudoscientific at best.

I'm not a tree hugger but we do destroy this Earth everyday.
This is true. We are extraordinary polluters. But carbon dioxide is NOT a pollutant. It is a trace atmospheric gas that is REQUIRED to sustain life as we know it on this planet.
If anything, a little too little CO2 would be a much, much more serious problem than a little too much.
We are adding toxic elements to our air, our water, our food. We pay the cost for that as we go and our children/grandchildren will pay more. But CO2 isn't one of those. We are also deoxygenating the ocean, overfishing and ruining a vast food supply for ourselves.
But, the CO2 inanity is a clear proxy for energy. If you can control energy production/consumption, you can then control literally everything about a person's life.
AGW is about population and behavioral control and a misguided global Marxist energy redistributionist scheme - a transparent one at that.

From a livescience.com discussion about the types of pollution:
Land pollution. Land can become polluted by household garbage and by industrial waste.

I appreciate that you feel highly of me, but I'm not trolling here just passing on what I have learned. Like I said, if there is interest, take a climatology class. Educate and look beyond what most go with. I've provided many different search topics in my post and they are legit topics.
Don't know why ppl are laughing and disregarding. Let's fix it.

Don't tell them about the dust bowl. We cannot do anything about what happens to the earth, remember?
What are you trying to say?? Your supposed point is what? The dust bowl was caused by climate change?

Thanks midnight, I will look into this later. Like I said too, I'm not disregarding anyone else either. I will look up opposition arguments later on.

"Climate change is real and of course it's because of the people on this planet."
Thanks for illustrating GIGO so well...you should receive a medal or something.

Pollution doesn't affect change of any kind??
You're changing the subject. Pollution can case change in a specific area. That is different than changing the climate of a planet.
Posted on 10/10/18 at 9:26 am to Dale51
I'm sorry if I changed the subject, I was replying to someone else's comment. Like I said above, if you go back, I'm not trying to go 40 ways with this. I have provided enough examples that anyone can Google to gain more insight. You don't have to if you don't want.

You're confusing the planet with the inhabitants of that planet.
How is it possible, in your view, that the actual planet is somehow "harmed" by people?

Dale, you keep trying to go back and argue different posts.
Like I said, if you want to know more, Google it. I don't know what you exactly want me to answer here.

I am no tree hugger but to think that 7.5 billion people are not having an impact on our climate is a pretty big gamble.
What is the gamble? The entire population of the planet could be put in an area the size of the state of Texas and Ariz with those people living in the density of the people in NYC. That leave the entire rest of the planet with zero people on it.
Google it.

Your question is like a Corey Booker question. You tell me to stay on point but the questions you won't let me answer aren't simple questions/answers.
That's why I suggested you to look up my points.
Let me try to find my professors website from that class. He's one that focused it on greed and had great examples and he's made many documentaries. I was lucky to have him for my associates. He is a very well respected person in his field.
Also, I'm a non-traditional student, I question things just like you all. I'm 30 and have been around the world. I'm far from a tree hugger. Like I said, just passing info that I felt was convencing from my prior beliefs.
