I'll disagree to a point. What about students that start college on the taxpayer's dime but yet fail to receive their degree? Should they just be forgiven for spending my and your money with no end result from that generosity?

I don't know about you but that is a gamble that I am not willing to take.

There's going to be a fail rate for sure. The greater good will benefit none the less.

It does as long as you are a complete irresponsible dumbass and lose it due to bad grades.

I did a google search yesterday and it said the graduation rate in 2012 for undergraduate degrees was 59%. Now maybe I'm looking at this in my own way but that is a 41% "failure" rate pertaining to this thread. So, for every dollar invested in this proposed program 41 cents goes down the toilet. I'd call that a money pit program.

If this program wanted to succeed then I'd suggest paying for graduate degrees instead. Separate those who really want to be highly educated from those that are looking for somewhere else to camp out other than mom and dad's house, at mine and your expense.

Even for international students? I had no idea.

A friend of mine's daughter is going to college in Scotland because it was cheaper than sending her to LSU.
