At least one fed court has sided with the law on a small issue of whether postage is a tax

quote:

Elections -- Mail-in absentee ballots -- Postage -- Poll tax -- Georgia's statutory framework for absentee voting by mail, which requires absentee voters who decide to vote by mail to pay their own postage, does not impose a “tax” or unconstitutional fee on voting in violation of Twenty-Fourth Amendment and Equal Protection Clause of Fourteenth Amendment -- Plaintiffs failed to state a valid claim under Twenty-Fourth Amendment because the requirement that an absentee voter pay for postage on a mail-in ballot is not a “poll tax or other tax” that abridges voters' right to vote in federal elections -

So they can't afford a DL, transportation to the polls, and/or stamp...seriously blacks need to figure their shite out on their own. Tired of being brought down to meet their needs and them not doing anything to at least come up some.

Yeah I know there are plenty that don't act this way, but they really need to start stepping up and making real change in their communities.

voting by phone

Why not? We pay bills by phone, make hotel and car rental reservations by phone, make doctors' appts. by phone, etc.

Why not vote? And with interminable lines at polling places, as we saw in November, it's simply the right thing to do.

No more so than trying to say the purchase of gasoline for your vehicle in order to make it to the polling place and back home is a "poll tax".

Funny how absentee ballots have been around for decades yet now, suddenly, the stamp required to send them back is a "poll tax".
