It's not that we in the west are indifferent. It's just I'm not sure what we can do. My church in particular has suffered. Fortunately we are rid of the last Democrat administration that basically encouraged this genocide through their Jihad Spring foreign policy but in practical terms what can we do? Even with Trump in office the US is unwilling to adopt an immigration policy that bans Muslims and only offers Christians asylum. Short of raising an army and launching the next crusade, what? It may come to that.
