Hey dipshit, you don't think the package of behaviors by this administration affects the future expectations for the price of oil, which are part of the current price?
I won’t call you names like you did the person you replied to but this is an inaccurate place to put much if any blame on at the moment. Keystone XL phase 4 didn’t even have a solid completion date (it was an ever moving target for many reasons). I don’t know anyone who was factoring this into futures pricing. Now the general instability flags by the Biden admin, maybe but for now those are small factors and these are not long term futures. The vast majority of any price increase is driven by demand returns and supply constrictions by a lack of expansion in Q2 and 3.

That is good for the O&G industry.
it's great for O&G in OPEC countries.

Keystone xl won’t have a price impact.

drilling is made illegal, etc as well
Hasn’t been made illegal.
The fact is current pricing is independent of the election.

production collapsed and a bunch of companies went bankrupt reducing US production by about 2.5MM bo/d due to covid...now the economy is picking up

Why is supply down?
COVID anyone?

Why are they not hopeful our supply rebuilds rapidly like it has before?
OPEC+ and the majors have committed to maintaining prod cuts and the limited 2021 capex.

That has VERY much to do with the election.
Nothing. Not to say it never does, but not so far.

You think this massive spike in price is a coincidence, and EOs concerning the Keystone XL pipeline and cancelling drilling on federal lands (about 25% of our domestic product) have nothing to do with it?
Keystone = no affect. Drilling is not cancelled, only new leasing.

So... Obama president and gas prices skyrocketed
Golden age of O&G, fueled American shale.

Trump wins and gas prices go down tremendously.
Prices collapsed in 2014 due to oversupply, completely independent of whoever was prez.

keep finding other reasons and justifications because gas prices rising always correlate.
Try going back a few years... ME price per barrel rises and next day gas prices go up... coincidence...
You should take the fifth.

Do you dispute any of that? What is not factual about that post in your opinion?

Didn’t Obama tell us to expect $6.00 / gallon gas prices ? That was to be the new norm...
Posted on 2/3/21 at 7:29 pm to cwill
You just proved how ignorant you are. Wow, lack of analysis and critical thinking are abundant. No wonder virtually every poster in here laughs at you.
Might want to learn a few things before spouting off or just read and learn

Lotta companies believed that, made bets and are now bankrupt. Aubrey Mclendon and Chesapeake is probably the star child of that failed theory...first with gas then with oil.

State specifically what is faulty with my analysis.

I just remember when the price of oil tanked back in late 2014-early 2015 and many people lost their jobs in O&G.

Critical thinking ? Trump allowed science and technology to manifest itself into oil production. Thus, we experienced lower gas prices and for the first time in decades, we became an exporter of oil.
Posted on 2/3/21 at 7:35 pm to Riolobo
Oil prices were at one time negative under Trump take that libs

There was no prior ban on that.

Prices plunged in 14 and bottomed out end of 15 to early 16 then rebounded into 50-60 range until COVID. Had nothing to do with who was president.

Occurred under Obama. But note that at peak US prod of 13MM bo/d US, consumption was 20MM bo/d.
