Let’s look at this picture.

- You are in the sporting goods business and have some locations “field and stream” that focus on this.

- You advocate by hiring lobbyists to have more weapon some call it gun control.

Then you wonder why you are closing stores.

Do you think they saw this coming?

The CEO of Dick’s Sporting Goods told investors in September that gun-purchasing restrictions the company imposed earlier this year have negatively affected its sales to a point where it may be forced to close its Field & Stream outlets.

I mean ... This is what the mental disorder of Liberalism looks like in the flesh. They don't even know how stupid they are.

As I was buying a pair of Nike's from Dicks a few weeks ago, I was thinking "The PT board would have a collective aneurysm over this"

In addition to the firearm-purchasing restrictions, Dick’s also hired a number of Washington, D.C. lobbyists in May to advocate for more-stringent gun-control regulations

Corporations are in the business of producing goods, providing services, ultimately delivering a profit and return on investment to shareholders. Nowhere in the charter is there language about virtue signaling, political pandering, etc.

What Dicks did in the wake of Parkland, was knee jerk and (much like the Camping World CEOs remarks) effectively shite on a portion of their customer base.

CEOs, corporations and entertainers....going political can often be worse for their business than it is good.

I haven’t spent a penny in Dicks since it happened, I used to go to Dicks every Sunday before the gym.

That CEO deserves a shareholder lawsuit for destroying the company's market value. From my quick reckoning Dick's is off about 50% from its high. He should lose every penny he's ever made off the place.

We have a Dicks and an Academy about a half mile from each other. Academy stays packed and Dicks looks like a ghost town.

Why would I care where you buy goods?

I will avoid Dick's. You do what you want.

You should have purchased 2 pairs so that Dick could break even for the pair I won’t buy.

One thing Wall Street likes is $$$. If an institutional investor doesn’t like what he’s hearing on a call like this from a CEO they will have no problem adjusting their postion accordingly no matter High righteous the company thinks it’s being with its social stance.
