What are we supposed to post about on this board?

Not in my first post, I didn't:

"What do you think Trump would do in office to bring inflation down?"

work with Congress to cut spending

Let's set aside, for the moment, his unwillingness to do such in his first term -in spite of campaign promises to do so. Cutting the budget may have some longer term effects on inflation, but wouldn't do anything in the short term to curb today's inflation.

Unfortunately, the medicine for inflation is a contraction of the economy. No president wants that - not even Reagan wanted it when he was fighting with Volcker to curb the inflation of the early 80s as Volcker's Fed policy sent us into a recession, but brought inflation down.

Maybe Trump would change for his last term and become more of a fiscal conservative, but every time I've hoped he would change, he has not.

The problem is NOT that the economy is fricked, the problem is that the economy is intractably strong. That's what's keeping the inflation numbers up.

It looks like it's going to take more rate hikes by the Fed.

This isnt a sign of a healthy economy, its being built on consumer debt.

Joe is as dumb as they come, everyone but him knew the "Inflation reduction act" would boost inflation.

Not really, the rise in consumer debt is mostly mortgage debt. It's retail sales that are driving the upward trend.

The economy isn’t strong. Retail revenues are up because prices are up … even though unit of measure may be down.

Whatever you'd like to post about, Roger. I was just making an observation and pointing out the predictability. I don't demand or expect you all to stop.

No. Retail revenues are up because consumers keep buying - regardless of price. Prices can be high, but if no one's paying them, sales will slump. Then the prices will come down to entice consumers back into the market.

Prices will remain high as long as demand is high.

Yep.

And don't take the bait on the other bullshite.

If asked: "I have already stated my position in that issue. Unless you have a question about illegal immigration, crime or inflation/the economy, I'll move in to someone who does."

You forgot to add the weaponization of the justice system against political opposition and Joe Biden's senility.
