This nation is royally fricked. The same people who have an issue with the way this mother rears her children are the same people who believe she should have the right to sexually destroy their minds/bodies forever. At even an earlier age.

The complainer needs to be shunned, and the officials/officers who did this need to be penalized/shunned/fired for their stupidity. And lawsuits all around.

When I was 10, I'd ride my bike down the shoulder of the highway into town and buy a can of dip with a counterfeit handwritten note from "my dad" and go share it with my buddies in the woods sitting on a stack of stolen Hustler magazines. Why the hell would the mom be arrested?

Plot twist: In most states, she would've been considered a bad mom for not forcing her kid to take an experimental bioweapon injection that could induce a lifetime of cardiac issues and/or infertility.

When I was a kid, back before electricity, my parents sent us outside to play and we weren't allowed back in the house until sundown.

Back in the 60s and 70s this was how it was.

Seems pretty clear the prosecutor's office is trying to avoid being forced to drop the charges. They clearly did not expect her to lawyer up and find a lawyer who isn't a wimp just trying to clear cases.

I've come to the realization that this is the story of every male GenXrs childhood. The thing that binds the generation and will break the ice. That plus WWF favorite moments.

One of the chapters in 'Power of Bad' had a study on this. Males in their 20s have more issues with depression and anxiety if they were raised by helicopter parents who constantly supervised them as opposed to free range kids.
The simplified reason: Free range kids develop self confidence ...'Yeah, I can handle this.' Protected kids are more nervous about interaction with peers and dealing with sudden problems.

The complainer has no power to take away your freedom. The police need to be shunned. Their hypersafety vigilance is nauseating.

Same here. Also, I was 10 years old in '83 and would ride my bike into town to the store to buy my mom cigarettes.

Another reason to never speak to police.

Police: Did you know your kid was in town?

Mom: innocently "No"
