Franklin Graham Decries Church Capitulation on Homosexuality, Abortion

“Many churches today are being influenced by culture when it should be the other way around — the church should be influencing culture with the Word of God,” Rev. Graham noted Friday.
“There are denominations and many churches that have compromised on what God’s Word says about things such as homosexuality, marriage, and abortion,” he added.
Graham praised the First Baptist Church of Jacksonville, which recently adopted a statement on biblical sexuality that has critics up in arms.
quote:
“God creates people in his image as either male or female, and that this creation is a fixed matter of human biology, not individual choice.”
“I believe marriage is instituted by God, not government, is between one man and one woman, and is the only context for sexual desire and expression,” the statement continues.
Rev. Graham lauded the measure, calling it “something that every church in America should adopt” because it “takes the ifs, ands, and buts out of it.”
“Way to go First Baptist Church of Jacksonville! I hope thousands of churches will follow your example. God bless you!” he concluded.

No mention of divorce though, which destroys more Christian families than the homos and baby-killers combined.

No mention of climate change either. Only so many fronts at a time

Satan is taking over the churches

So start with the one that will save the most souls. There are far more Christians on their second marriage that think they are going to heaven than homos that will listen to Graham.

So divorce sends you to hell now? See, that's why I always have to make the distinction that I'm part of the right but not the religious-right. Insanity.

You can get divorced and seek forgiveness, but you can’t ever get remarried unless your divorce was because your first wife cheated or stopped believing in God. Otherwise, you’re committing adultery just like the homos.

Graham has managed to stay the course and is more concerned with preaching the Gospel and saving souls than placating the followers of Wokeism.

Jesus allowed for divorce in the case of sexual immorality (Matthew 5). So not always a sin.

I’m pretty sure Paul wrote a letter too,the Corinthians about the same thing happening back in the day. Nothing new here, most churches want to let up on the religion part to get more members and increase tithing.

Well isn't that nice. But if your spouse wants to treat you like a doormat, abuse your kids, etc then Jesus thinks that's still a good marriage I guess.

Ah, satire, I get it now.
What’s satirical? It’s straight from the Bible

Well back then women weren't allowed to divorce men at all if you want to really talk shop. But feel free to use today's standards/mores to cast aspersions on society 2000 years ago if it makes you feel better.

I grew up in a southern baptist church where at least half the congregation was divorced or remarried, some of them three times. Really hard to believe the Bible says divorce is a sin. Highly doubt it

The Bible is quite the entertaining read at times. I'd still love for someone to explain to me how eight people cared for thousands of animals every day. Not to mention keeping them from attacking each other and enough supplies to keep them fed the entire voyage. Not to mention the endless contradictions between the books (some gospels even contradict themselves) and translations. Oh, and you should really look into the team King James assigned to compile the King James Bible. They were not the most upright of society. And King James was a huge POS himself. But y'all sure do love his version of the Bible.

Your preacher kept skipping that part because he didn’t want his salary cut in half

So why reference it at all then? Why do you all want to complicate the relationship between you and God so much? Do you really believe God cares about such inconsequential matters?
