Kind of limiting yourself with naturally aspirated, yes? Add a Supercharger or Turbo, yes?

The single turbo v4 (tacoma) and twin turbo v6 (tundra, sequoia) have had problems.

Turbochargers run very hot. They fail at a higher rate. More repair costs, less reliability.

I know people that bought a used v8 rather than buy a new turbo v6 model.

The path towards less emissions while also being a usable option for most Americans is not EV.

I don't care at all about emissions.

V8s have problems too. And the gas mileage is fricking dog shite on those Tundras. It is a terrible daily driver.

I had a hybrid Ford Maverick, loved it. Rode well, good mileage, best of gas and electric, no plugs, just couldnt pull anything with it.

Fair enough. An EV would be just fine for a commuter car.

The Volkswagen turbo diesels got about 50 miles to the gallon. Volkswagen got severely punished for making something ridiculously efficient.

Actually Toyota believes EV's are the future......but the present belongs to hybrids

No they don't. They are investing in hydrogen.
Toyota has consistently said ev is not the solution and the grid can't handle it.

Just a few months ago the CTO said

“We know EVs are the future. But until we get there, we're going to keep trying to get better at what we do best.”

They are introducing 15 new EVs, including 7 in the U.S., by 2027. If they are able to launch their solid state battery in 2 years it will be ground breaking.

Having concerns about the grid and EZs is a very legitimate concern, AI has made it even worse.

Nah. Greater simplicity should be.

Agreed. with only windshield wiper fluid (and an air filter) to maintain, this crushes, brake, transmission, oil, gas, water, along with assorted pumps fans belts, starters, alternators and 3 year lead-acid starter batteries.

So you may have to buy tires more often.

I used to think hybrid was great -The only truly happy people are the car salesmen and mechanics.

Good…. I think hybrid is the way to go… I’ve owned a couple Camry’s and they are wonderful.

that's weird. The wife's acoord gets 42 on the interstate and 55-60 in town. Never heard of a hybrid getting better mileage at 75mph versus stop and go traffic where the battery really pays off
Good catch! I fricked that up for sure.
