No.
I don't know how to tell you otherwise.

Ok, but he wasn’t in office for anything. RFK was a senator. A senatorial seat had to be filled by special election.

I grew up in Birmingham in the 1960s
It wasn’t a great time

He was doing more work with his boots on the ground talking and changing the lives of the younger generations that will become our future voting population.

While the outrage was unequivocally similar among people who were angered by the senseless loss this feels different.
It showcases the absolute hate between the right and left who can find no common ground on the myriad of issues plaguing the nation.

A lot more hate by the leftists.
You can't find common ground with savages.
That time is over.

quote:see it's just the opposite for me. I knew most involved in politics knew charlie, but I was SHOCKED out how many people I know and don't know, celebrities etc were posting about him.
different because RFK was a national figure. Charlie was beloved by most conservatives and those plugged in to politics, especially the youth. I was surprised how many of my family and coworkers had no idea who he was and they are all right leaning. They took him out before he had a chance to really become a household name to the general not plugged in public. I have no doubt he would have run for office and been very successful.

I'm thinking I was watching live when it happened. I remember Rosie Greer (one of the Fearsome Foursome of the LA Rams) wrestled the gun away from Sirhan Sirhan, breaking his fingers. I don't really remember how I felt but I remember talking to my girlfriend at the time about it. So, I guess we were all kind of numb having just gone through his brother's assassination. Not a particular fan but I couldn't vote at the time so not particularly fond of him politically though.
