"You could say that Soleimani was plotting to attack the U.S. It may well be true. But with his death, do you think it's more or less likely that Iran and their militias and their proxies will attack the U.S.? I would argue that it's much more likely," Paul told host Neil Cavuto.

quote:

Neil Cavuto then quoted Tulsi Gabbard that the president had violated the constitution by declaring an act of war against Iran

I know it’s not a surprise coming from either of these but this reiterates why Paul will NEVER be my man for POTUS. Never.

I think Trump would agree with him here.

Rand Paul is saying this after Iran threw rockets at our compounds, killed and injured Americans there and tried to storm our embassy and he would let it go without a forceful response?

A good example of why he should not be President.

Let’s say that “more likely” is the truth. Are we supposed to sit back and allow them to attack us? Successfully or not?

Bullies bully until someone stops them. Period.

On a Friday Fox News Alert, Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.) expressed his disappointment in the attack authorized by President Donald Trump which killed Iranian General Qassem Soleimani."

He overall Disapproves. And hey I would love to see us all coming home from there but if we are there and they’re gonna attack us, you’ve got to fricking hit them back hard like Trump did. If not THEN you open yourself up to more attacks

I think that his death doesn’t reduce the likelihood of further action from Iran. Whether we admit it or not, they are at war with us and have been for quite a while.

He’s not wrong. I don’t agree with him but he’s not wrong.

Iran has been trying to start shite for 40 years. They just finally got a president with the balls to give them what they wanted.

Paul would never proactively protect America and its citizens. Paul is a “theoretical” bull shite artist.

And your take reiterates why the Republican Party will never actually be conservative.

Then continue supporting the John McCain's and Mitt Romney's of the world, who proactively "protect" Americans by sending them to die in wars that have zero to do with our national security and lots to do with their own personal enrichment.

I don't agree with anyone on everything.

But I agree with Rand on most things.

On this? I think he is mistaken & I agree with meatcleaverweaver that his extreme pacifism disqualifies him from serious consideration to be POTUS

He is still one of the top 3 best Senators & we are fortunate to have him serving the country (THANK YOU KENTUCKY!!!)

Tulsi? Is likely one of the most reasonable Democrats left in this country -- I respect her; but the fact the she is absolutely one of the "sane" ones from the other side is very troubling...

He didn't actually say that at all. You are assuming that's what he thinks, but you don't know that.

It reads to me like he answered a question. A question, that like another poster pointed out, President Trump would likely agree with.

As far as Rand is concerned, you do understand that a person can be wrong on certain issues or you don’t have to agree with each of their positions to admire them, right?

So I ask all the "conservatives" on here to name me 4 time periods since the beginning of the 20th century where government grew the most rapidly. I would submit the following 4 as my examples:

1) Woodrow Wilson administration in the late 1910's.

2) FDR administration from 1933-1945

3) LBJ administration from 1963-1968

4) Post 9/11 America from 2001-present

What is the common denominator in all these eras? The United States was at war. As Randolph Bourne said, "war is the health of the state." Governments exercise powers in times of conflict that they never could in times of peace. Rand Paul, and moreso his father, understand that limiting the federal government's role in your day-to-day affairs will never occur with an interventionist foreign policy.

So let me get this straight...

Iran had attacked us in Kirkuk, stormed the embassy, and more attacks were imminent but Rand Paul is now worried that killing the Iranian General ordering aforementioned attacks makes it more likely we get attack. Someone get Rand a dictionary so he understands imminent. Isn't the very definition of imminent, highly likely?

Sums up my thoughts just about perfectly. I'm a Rand fan and don't agree with everything he says.

Actually he never said that one bit.

You live in a bubble brother. Still take the lines delivered by your gubment. Iran and US, Israel have been at each other for years. We go back and forth. This ain't news. It isn't some epiphany.

What he is saying is killing a revered general will make things WORSE. It is akin to killing a mob bosses family and expecting them to back down. That ain't how you resolve things unless you wish to go full scale war. Which is where we might be headed soon.

Just make sure you sign the frick up or log off when it happens. Iran is a huge nation and the terrain is rough. We lost thousands of lives in Iraq and Afghanistan over bull shite lies.

We are tired of it. They had other options for the tit for tat we have been doing for decades. We are the ones next door while they are attempting to destroy wahhabi factions and help their Shia brothers

I don't give a shite about Islam, Christianity, Judaism, any of it. It is all a cesspool. I voted for Trump to not do shite this absurd. Islam is an ideology and we still but the same shite. Let Israel and Iran duke it out

It gives us zero advantage whatsoever and dangerously leads us to war. And a war that would cost thousands of lives.

The fact you folks have done a fricking about face 180° tells me all i need to really know about the last 20 years of bitches belly aching their faux outrage on war in the ME. Y'all sound exactly like we did in 2001 when we were sold that horse shite too

A bunch of fools.

Rand Paul is what we need and you are blasting him like the neocon bitch you seem to be.

Republicans are no different than the libtard trash. Two peas in one pod.
