Them leaving isn’t the issue. It’s the timing of the resignations. Why not simply finish their terms and allow another Republican a chance to fill their seats?

They watched what happened to Lankford for trying to address a pressing issue and decided they didn't want to get catch the same fate if they attempted to actually do any governing themselves.
