I agree but don’t understand why Johnson is such a candy a$$.

I’ve always known Louisiana baws to be some of the most conservative folks in the country. Mike Johnson sure ain’t one.

He’s from my neck of the woods so I hoped he would work out, but he sucks.

He understands the gravity of the situation this country faces. There is no more time left to hope people in the shithole known as Washington DC wake up and change their minds to do what is right for the American Citizens.

It is now or never to clean this shite up, otherwise this Republic they gave us 250 years ago is gone.

Everyone on this board hated the Bill Pulte hiring when it was first announced. It'll be fun to watch everyone suddenly change their minds.

Your definition is surely overblown. Most here were wait & see, plus, it's temporary, and Trump wanted him, so who am I to challenge his judgement here?

Here’s my opinion as someone who is not a constituent of his.

He is much closer to a a normal dude than most politicians. He actually worked as a lawyer, I believe. He attends church. He doesn’t have frick you money . You could tell he was kind of a poser when Trump was running around with Musk, Rogan, RFK, etc between election night and inauguration.

He doesn’t have the iron belly or uncancellable fortitude of a guy like Trump. He knows how the swamp gets to little people like Seth Rich or Brian Kemp.

Is it true that he has a different staff as Speaker of the House than he did while he was just a regular representative?

But they will go to the lobbyist group and cause more damage and pilfer more money from the original source, the US tax payer. We just can't get rid of leaches.

Congressmen can pander to their constituents when they are in the ranks, but once in leadership, they have to whip the ranks, and that exposes their real positions. Plus, they sometimes have to represent their fellow congressmen because that’s who elects them to their cherished position.

Serving two electorates - their district or state back home and their colleagues in congress - is a tightrope act.
