On the specific point of the relationship, I know you will agree with me that such uber high profile marriage situations present unique and extreme challenges. Ot just ain’t gonna ever resemble what we out here would expect in our personal worlds. In fact as far as they’re concerned, I can’t think of a single such situation wherein the public face of the thing isn’t equally as “vague,” is a good way to put it I think, and perhaps the Trumps’ may even exude more genuineness than most others. Can you think of another comparable example that would lead us to say “that high profile couple there - that’s how the Trumps could easily be, but it’s just not in the cards.”

Well the problem is that no one with any good sense is going to follow that line of thinking. I’m certainly not following in the specific instance of yours right there. Maybe you could develop it a little further.
As far as the examples you listed, they’re not at all comparable. Have you observed at any point in your life the same level of angst and ill-wishes towards any of those examples as has been the case with the Trump’s? Do you feel the same towards, say, George and Barbara Bush as you have towards the Trumps, as a matter of positive thoughts? Of course not. You would be strangely pleased a d satisfied if we heard right now that the Trumps have had a sudden and emotionally hurtful split. You’d laugh out loud. That’s a very peculiar level of hatred towards them that is rather well known on a grander scale.

You are a quality dude, but where is this voice of reason when the MAGA types are hurling THEIR choice pejoratives at anyone who dares to disagree with THEM?

To some extent, I get it. First, DTG is bright enough to understand your point. Second, why expose yourself to the same attacks by inserting yourself into the fray. But it does make THIS point seem a bit ... hollow.

And I’m right there with you as well, Hank. I’ll go on record with that all day long. That alone is against the grain and enough to lose me some friends. But I remain steadfast in my resolve.
I agree that DTG is plenty bright, and I more so meant my words as constructive criticism and not drive by insult. I could have better clarified. And you’re right, my original proposition is a two way street, no doubt, and I’ll endeavor to be more mindful of it myself. If I had to pick one “cause” that would put me at odds with some of the more extroverted positions on the board, it would be, at least for “our” part, to diligently refrain from starting any kind of mess whatsoever from the Trump supporter camp to the Desantis camp. I guess I’ll just leave it at that for now.
