States doing this will drive them to sanctuary states, and let those political laboratories experience the full brunt of their experiment.
If every illegal migrant ended up in CA, OR, WA, CO or New England, NY and Illinois, I'd welcome every new crosser with a handshake until those "sanctuary" states grew a collective electorate brain.

Not to burst anyone’s bubble, but if the current migrants crossing the border get detained by ICE. ICE will give them indefinite temporary status until their asylum hearing. The new law is essentially moot because once ICE determines their status as temporary they are no longer illegal. Now if they cross the border and do not get papers, they could be detained under this law.
