I agree with your take but I think Fauci is the one ultimately responsible. His lying and manipulation of the gain of function led to the disaster that was covid. These emails prove his involvement and intent. They also prove the fraud that he committed with 3 letter agencies. I don't know but maybe the DOJ tries to test his "pardon" and see where it goes.
