Yea sure Rand Paul asked him the “tough questions” then he just accepts a bold face lie from fauci and proceeds on to his next fundraiser.
Fauci has been strongly in favor of GOF research for years. He knows it. Rand knows it. The public largely does not. Fauci is a fraud. Rand knows it, but the public doesn't. Instead the public is smitten with Fauci. As such, no one else in the Senate is willing to raise the issue at all.
Biden's DOJ will ignore Fauci, Fauci's GOF research, and his lies under oath. They might even try to go after others who raise concern. Mandarin Mitch hasn't got Paul's back, and is more likely to undercut him on anything implicating China. Paul is pretty much alone on this. About all he can do is raise awareness.

Are you fricking kidding me?
That meeting should have come to a god damn halt and fauci should have to explain in detail that research paper and how it’s not gain of function research. Then Rand and every other senator needs to be hammering this non stop.
I’m convinced they don’t really care. It’s all a show because I don’t see how you let that slide.
did you listen to the exchange? Paul pushed him after Fauci said they had nothing to do with the funding and gave specific instances, and then Fauci turned around and said "well yes we did, but we had to because of safety."

at 2:15, Fauci is saying we didn't give them money. then at 3:15 he's saying we had to investigate and it would have been irresponsible to not to have sent money and investigate.
now if you're argument is "why didn't they have the CP arrest him on the spot for lying?" then yes i get it, but Paul pushed him to the point where Fauci admitted that he had lied.

Fauci wasn't technically lying. The NIH used a middle man (eco Health) who then gave money to Wuhan. Eco Health is ran by the same man the WHO picked to represent America in their investigation. Lolz

Except they clearly funded American researchers who worked directly with this lab on this very research, and they knew what those researchers were doing. But because he never wrote a check directly to the Wuhan lab directly, he's politically clean.
