I think people should take it if they want and doctors should prescribe it. There is basically no risk.
Hence my take:

If the infection is mild, then there is no problem. If these drugs are safe (and a LONG history has suggested that they are), then they should be prescribed immediately. Why? Logically... they are either effective, they are a placebo with a positive impact, or they are not needed. The reality is that if the patient doesn’t see improvement, or things deteriorate, then they will go to the hospital...which is where they would go without the ambulatory approach. The instructions are the same with, or without ambulatory care...no? I simply don’t see a down side to prescribing cheap, safe, readily available medications... especially if some people see results with them, no matter how those results came about.

I’m not sure. As you noted, Big Pharma is going to make bank no matter what.
Big pharma and those getting kickbacks are making money like never before. Testing, grants and vaccine sales.

Yet, no policy maker will equate prior Covid o vaccination. I mean, if it is documented (not, “In think I had it,”) then that should count to herd immunity imho
You are absolutely correct but they treat us like children. They think there will be a bunch of people who say “yea I had covid last January when I had that bad cough” and not get vaccinated.
It’s this same mentality that lead Fauci to initially say masks are necessary so he could save them for healthcare workers.
Instead of saying masks may help but you shouldn’t buy them all because we need them for first responders. (I’m not saying masks work, just using this as an example of them lying to us because they think we are stupid)

Maybe they are hesitant to count prior infection as immunity because they know (and knew all along?) that their cycle thresholds were creating a lot of false positives?
It's been great to read all the doctors in this thread conversing. Would any of you offer opinions on vaccine enhanced disease? Clearly this is a concern since the Pfizer Briefing document states:
I am glad the vaccine is available to the vulnerable but am very disturbed that it is being pushed on my young adult children. I hope more healthcare professionals will push back on this blanket approach to vaccination.

Available data do not indicate a risk of vaccine-enhanced disease, and conversely suggest
effectiveness against severe disease within the available follow-up period. However, risk of
vaccine-enhanced disease over time, potentially associated with waning immunity, remains
unknown and needs to be evaluated further in ongoing clinical trials and in observational studies
that could be conducted following authorization and/or licensure.

If its good and safe in Africa its good in the third world like the U.S..
As I have said previously, there's a reason why you don't have horrifying death rates from India and Africa and it isn't shitty record keeping.

She can't be a real nurse because she's not wearing scrubs.
So I'm supposed to believe some random woman on some website that I've never heard of?
Sure Jan
