His decision to resist is part of a growing trend among black Americans who are taught to believe they are constant victims of racism and maltreatment by police despite evidence to the contrary.

Allowing citizens to throw buckets of water on policemen without retribution only fuels this mentality.

True - EGs death was related to his actions upon being approached by LEO. Same as the hood rat getting into a shootout with Police because he was stopped fror a broken taillight - it is not related to the taillight. It is related to resisting arrest - plain and simple. If you want to argue that stupid taxes leads more people to do stupid, illegal things, that's fine - but as long as they don't accost the person DOING THEIR JOB it is not because of the arrestt - it is because of their OWN actions.

Some people just don't believe in personal responsibility or accountability. Always wanting to blame something or someone.

A person doesn't have the right to sell cigarettes right outside of a store that sells the same product and is being hurt by these sales. In fact, it was the store owner who called the police to complain.

Yeah. Because of the same nanny state that instituted the sin taxes.

that are often outdated and no longer necessary. Sorry you don't like change but you are proving the point of "they are good because I agree with them"

So a businessman wanting to have rights over his businesses property is akin to a state passing sin taxes?

History will show that they weren't outdated and their abolishment was detrimental to the society.

He’d been arrested 30 times with only a few convictions. If I’d been arrested/harassed in that way, I might swing on a cop, too.

This is an opinion. So by all means lets make laws based on it while bashing the other side for doing the exact same thing. Yay politics.

There's no reason to lay hands on anyone for selling "loosies" on the street.

This isn’t Mexico. You want to sell cigs then open a shop or work for one. It’s against the law to sell drugs on a corner, and the reason for that shouldn’t have to be explained. If the person selling drugs on the corner won’t leave when asked, then yes he should be arrested.

Things like families being good for society, civility, telling the truth, being kind to others, etc. are time tested realities and aren't based on opinions.
Plus, I'm not for trying to legislate them anyway.
