I don’t have issue with ending filibuster but I don’t think the Senate republicans have the stomach for it.

Correct me if I’m wrong but my memory is that the Ds tried to kill it in Biden Administration but Manchin and maybe Sinema killed it (both of whom are now gone).

Outside of Fetterman now, who in the Dem ranks would be against removing it?

While it’s a mistake it’s going to be ended regardless by this administration or the very next democrat administration.

The democrats almost ended it in 2021-2022 but Manchin and Sinema held firm.

They will end it at some point, if republicans don’t.

Correct and wont think twice about it.

I agree. But in fairness, the Dims in very recent memory, already tried to eliminate the filibuster themselves. The only reason it didn't happen is because Kristen Sinema and Joe Manchin sided with the GOPe and killed it.

You better believe that when the Dims get the votes, they're going to do it. And then every time that power transitions from one ideology to another, the policy and legislation will be far more dramatic and partisan than EVER before.

I keep telling people like this, that the Dems will trip over themselves to end it should they retake the Senate. No matter what the GOP does.

Yep, that's the conundrum to this. In theory I agree with the folks saying that ending it opens the door for the democrats to do so when they reclaim control but I also agree with you that they're probably going to do it anyway regardless.

It's kind of a damned if you do damned if you don't situation. I can see how some might say go ahead and do it because of that
