Do you have any clue how access to gov email works?

Yes. What day did they send the email? How many people wouldn't see it during the work week. Are those working from home not able to access it, because I know some that can and did.

DOD employees aren't responding to this email so the only people who care about this are the media and folks in here

Do you really think that consultants are "independent"? They are there to work on behalf of the company and its stated interests. If the two Bobs show up they are there to make sure everyone is preforming and not just making a paycheck.

I’m a consultant for the company I work for. I’m a company man on the rig. When I signed the contract it asked if I had owner ship or some kind of affiliation with any business the company had working for them. No legitimate company would allow that.

You realize this is literally meant to be an example of how to run a shitty company, right?

Saturday evening.

My bad. I thought it went out at the end of the work week and announced in the media Saturday. I was wrong.

All good.

There's a lot wrong with how this was handled, and people need to stop pretending this was a simple request for folks to send their WAR to their supervisors.

I think the administration recognizes that, and is backpedaling on it already.

So, all of these WFH people that are bitching don't have access to their .gov emails?

No one is back pedaling. Trump confirmed today. Respond or you’re fired. It’s not that hard. Answer an email. They’re just looking for a response of any kind. Anyone complaining deserves to be fired.

This is like your boss telling you to ignore something from HR. That’s where a lot of the confusion lies. They really need to clarify this quickly.

Yes. It’s like this.

But also if HR sent out an email on a Saturday night demanding you tell them what you did last week or they’ll take it as a resignation. This without consulting any of your supervisors or failing to recognize not everyone has weekend email access nor are they even permitted to send what they do day to day to an unsecure email because of their sensitive work (which was a major reason why DoD and others told their employees to ignore it).

It was deemed optional hours ago.

They're absolutely backpedaling. Most are ignoring it, OPM said it's voluntary, and nothing will be done about any of that.

It was always voluntary. There should have been language to that effect in the email.

Haven’t seen anyone ask - whose AI LLM do they plan on feeding all of the info they manage to collect through this exercise?
