Now ask yourself, would Kamala Harris been more supportive of those ideals than Trump? If so, then by all means keep spewing. Otherwise, get on board. Even if you don't get ALL of those things from President Trump you will still get more than you would have under harris.

For some weird reason, I expect more conservatism from a Republican.

Sometimes you need to be thankful for what you have.

I thought is was obvious that since we were discussing Trump/Biden, the better/worse comparison was about our lives in reference to the government. If you won the billion dollar lottery last week, your life is much better today.

Oh look, Team Trump is once again being the great party of unity, calling anyone that disagrees "bots", while, like Democrats, they march in lock step to whatever tune Trump plays.
MTG did this earlier today on X, saying she would not normally support CR2.0 but 'because Trump' she voted for it - and she got roasted by a lot of comments for that. Meanwhile, the people that are most grounded to sound decisions on these budget bills, like Massie and Andy Biggs, voted NO. I'm a bit skeptical that people like Massie voted NO yet Elon and Vivek were then in favor of this bill, given their alignment on such issues before.
You'd see things clearly if you just evaluated Trump objectively. Being less awful than Democrats is not sufficient and it shouldn't buy your undying loyalty. When you (the good guys) don't put pressure on Trump, he does horribly stupid things. No one put pressure on him during the first budget, except Mattis, Paul Ryan, and that group, and look what happened. Then later he was going to sign a budget that gave Dems everything they wanted. Coulter and Rush both said the country was over if he signed it - he was set to sign it before those two sounded the alarm.
I said they will get sick of Trump, and that's going to happen. Trump burns bridges and throws tantrums. When Elon and Vivek bow out, Trump will go back to his roots and trash them on social media, like he did Jeff Sessions and many others. But these guys have FU money and about 300 more IQ points than Trump and now they're on the inside, so if they leave and decide to talk, they're going to have a lot to say. If that comes to pass, 2026 will see Dems take Congress and then Trump v2.0 is over. That means impeachment and removal is right back on the table.
That comment from Elon is not support for CR2.0. Maybe he supports it, but I haven't seen that from him. What's he's doing is shifting the shutdown narrative over to Dems, which is something everyone should be doing - like their pathetic screed on pediatric cancer research funding. Not a single Dem put that in a stand alone bill. Would take them less than 5 minutes to copy, paste, and submit and they didn't do it, and Republicans let them get away with this and never point this out.
This bill is another piece of garbage and Trump's comments made it clear he wants no debt ceiling so he can spend like there's no tomorrow, yet again. That questions the existence of DOGE and it won't be that long before Vivek and Elon are tired of Trump's weakness, failure to follow through, and his ego.
The only thing that will keep them engaged, especially Elon, is that he knows Trump and his bruised ego could easily side with Democrats and go after X, SpaceX, Tesla, etc. But, without X, the counter-Democrat messaging for 2026 is DOA. Trump thinks he's the only one that can stand on his own - his wealth and capabilities are nothing compared to Vivek and Elon. He brought them on and he would be well advised to set them loose and give them full support. Things like 'no debt ceiling till 2029' are not what they signed on for and question why they're there to begin with.
But, keep up the insults. They are such persuasive arguments.

I dont anticipate an elected official helping me much.

What has the debt ceiling done for us over the past 20 years? Has it reduced any spending? Seems to me like it has made things worse, by creating all of the "crisis's" where they get more and more and more and more pork in to avoid the current "crisis", only to extend it to the next "crisis"...
The abuse of raising the ceiling doesn't mean it hasn't slowed debt growth. By definition, those times when the debt ceiling wasn't raised are times when it limited the growth in spending.
It's not the best limiter, by far, but to remove it is to give Congress an open checkbook for the next two years. You want the return of high inflation? That's how you get the return of high inflation.

Nope. How is whining, crying and bitching on the internet going to fix anything? Would I LOVE to cut out ALL deficit spending? Absolutely. Do I think it is possible? No way he11. IF we can just close the border and deport all the illegals, that would be a heck of a start. We spent 143 Billion on illegals in 2023. Assuming a 10% more in 2024 that will be 157 Billion, that would go a LONG way toward balancing the budget.
