There is no excuse for it. But just because they slapped her upside her head, that doesn't give her a pass on dropping the no no. She should fully expect to get her arse kicked once she dropped the no no.

Why is it so hard to allow both parties to be wrong here? She escalated the situation vastly with 1 word. I’m not sure what I would have done but dropping the N-bomb on a very busy commuter with black people all around me wouldn’t be an option for me.

The people were obviously assholes. The whole problem started with them playing their music too loudly, against the rules. They then proceeded to beat an elderly woman. Total assholes and should be prosecuted. But she isn’t blameless. If I ever dropped that word I would fully expect to be in a physical confrontation immediately after.

It's not like she had a prepared speech. She just got hit in the head. If someone hits me in the head I might use a few words they don't like because frick them for hitting me in the head.
