My workplace recently made us attend "diversity training."
The presenter was introduced citing positions he's held and his academic background. The guy had a PhD in something like "Ethnic Studies", and then presented us a PowerPoint slideshow full of spelling and grammatical errors.
PhD my arse.

In my opinion, SPS has ruined public schools in Louisiana.

Why are majors like Gender Studies, Cultural Studies and Ethnic Studies becoming so popular?

yeah, that is a myth for the most part. The average college student is majoring in communications, education, marketing, business, etc. at a state school. They also struggle with writing a grammatically correct email and don't read outside of school mandated assignments.

The average SEC or even small school player has almost nothing in common with the rest of the student body, and even further, is nowhere near the academic level of the average student.
Good point. Meanwhile, schools like Notre Dame admit only about 2,000 undergraduate students each year and a hair under 10% of the entire student body participates in a Div. I sport, from football to fencing to volleyball. Admission requirements are not relaxed for anyone and it’s a top 20 academic institution. It can be done right.

Doesn’t apply to Lafayette High’s gifted program. They are sending several kids to Ivy League schools, several full rides to LSU, Tulane, Pepperdine, Stanford, all over. They are some of the strongest in the state, and they aren’t alone in Louisiana.
