We don’t hear about this along with the fact we don’t hear about his plagiarism, his son’s work with the Ukraine and China, his dementia, his brother killing someone and not being charged, his anti crime bills, etc. etc.
he has a free ride with the press.

We did hear that he recently ordered chocolate, chocolate chip ice cream and the media was gushing, audible oooohs and ahhhs. Remember when they attacked Trump for 2 scoops? Quite a different approach.

I agree. I hate the hypocrisy. But I don’t care if someone skipped Vietnam..

Bjorn you arse wipe. I was in the Army at that time.

Then you, of all people, should know it was a stupid “war” that wasn’t worth one American life.

Are people actually defending fricking Vietnam in this thread?

Or are we so blinded by patriotism that criticism of the MIC is now perceived as criticism of our veterans?

Because that’s retarded.

(And Biden is an asswipe. This isn’t about him)

Liberals really loved pushing that then voted for two people that haven't been to war.

The primary thesis you’re railing against isn’t whether the Vietnam War was righteous; it’s that holding an anti-war position does not inoculate one from being a chicken-hearted sniveler.

It’s a stone cold fact that the vast majority of Vietnam draft dodgers weren’t principled protestants so much as craven, lily-liveried cowards...

I heard that Biden was given a pass from going since he had technically already served the country when he protected all the innocents by defeating cornpop

Joe Biden is a jerk. He's a jerk now. He's always been a jerk. Recently Plugs added another not-so-distinguished title? That of Pedo Pervert in Chief

Apparently a significant number of voters like jerks. A good indicator of the direction this country is headed.

Having said that, diversity is not our strength, it is our curse.

Stolen elections have consequences.

I agree. But it's also hard for me to judge the willingness of people to go fight in a war that had nothing to do with the United States and had no bearing on our freedoms or way of life.

He boasts of his son, Beau's military service, as though it makes up for his unwillingness to serve during Vietnam.
I appreciate Beau's service, as we all should. On the other hand, he stacked the deck and set Hunter up in the Navy as a commissioned officer. He had to obtain two waivers to get Hunter into this cherry position. He was over the allowed age limit and he had previous drug issues. And yet, the clown of all clowns blew his short-lived Navy career.
I served in the 101st Airborne Division from 1974-76 and met many Vietnam Veterans that I consider heroes. I remember one individual telling me that the way to avoid going to Vietnam was to join the National Guard or go to college and get made-up ailments to obtain deferments.
Joe had that figured out!

The bigger issue here is that people old enough to be eligible for the draft (which was abolished in 1973) are still being considered for higher office.

This should've stopped being an issue years ago.
