This makes it worse for Democrats now.
Most indicators lag, so no. They'll blame Trump.

Show the lies and manipulated numbers.
If Trump does this, he will be associated with these worse numbers
The only place this will resonate as a Trump win is within the echo chamber.

I dont know why this is a surprise on this board, some of us have been saying this for years.

Just go back to any thread from like 2021 or 2022 when people were blaming Biden for inflation and deflecting from people pointing out that was Trump's inflation. This will answer any question as to how the DEMs can spin it in the next few years.

Yep, thats exactly how it will play out here too, just the players reversed.

Just you wait !!!!!!

You think the public is going to tolerate press conferences where Trump is blaming everyone else while things are crashing?
Nothing is going to crash. But Trump has to be honest about how Biden and company were cooking the books. The public wants the Truth. Can you imagine what we don't know yet? There was so much Corruption and Manipulating numbers that will be a big reveal. If I am Trump I am naming a Corruption Czar to report on these numbers. Kinda like they are doing with DOGE. You have to show the Corruption to the American people. These 4 years should be about burying the Deepstate and the Corruption and that includes the false economic reporting.

And it will be TRUMPs fault......get ready for that narrative
As long as it's not permanently saddled to Vance, I don't care what the legacy media says about Trump.
Furthermore, in roughly two years, regardless of an inherited recession, the economy & job opportunities will be booming after de-regulations, oil production, tariffs, Made in America incentives, etc. the possible economic stench will have worn off both Trump & Vance.

This literal exact scenario has already played out on here, just with the roles switched.

The only people who will give a shite about this during a major recession are those already in the Cult of MAGA posting the same stories over and over again in the echo chamber.
Everyone else will be looking for solutions and worried about their job/financial security and wondering why Trump isn't fixing it.

I hope you're right, but I'm not optimistic. I have a doomer outlook generally, though.

If those things work, the DEM winner in 2028 will likely get to claim the fruits of the efforts. There is a long lag in policy and tactile economic impacts for voters.

They can't. Everyone knows the economy is shite. Can you imagine when we find out Biden and company were actually manipulating the numbers. Pam Bondi will have to go after the economic fraud that happened. Can you imagine when the American public finds out Illegal Aliens were getting more money than they were told. None of this was covered in the press. The American public does not know about it. That will change now. When the President of the United States has a emergency press conference telling the American public about the fraud, they will have to cover it.

After 4 years of Biden and his Marxist hen string pullers policies, it is no wonder. Trump will turn it around quickly. The Trump effect is already boosting confidence across the board.

Let's just assume your fantasy does happen.
What does that have to do with the terrible economy Trump is overseeing, at that point?
Trump was already elected for a shaky economy under Biden. Revealing it was worse than the numbers say means nothing at this hypothetical point in the future.

You were the same clown that said MAGA was only 30% of the party. You were wrong. Just like you were wrong about "Crime is going down"

If that.

The data does not agree. Where are all these MAGA Senators and Reps? MAGA is still a massive minority within the GOP ranks of elected officials in DC.

Imagine thinking the American public will blame the incoming administration when they find out the old economic numbers were being cooked.
Clearly you didn't see all the stupid "I did that" stickers in 2021-2022 when America was clearly suffering from inflation caused by printing/spending during the Trump admin.

You are a special kind of dumbass
I bet you also were one of the "I did that" cohort

This Chart Proves That We Are In A Major Economic Downturn Right Now
It proves the Fed's rate hikes, which started in the 1st quarter of 2022 after the worst of COVID was over, to shrink the money supply to cool the economy, worked.
And that is why the Fed started reducing rates with a .50% cut in the Fed Funds rate effective September 18 of this year. It was the first rate cut since 2020.
The Fed is attempting to navigate the economy into the ever elusive "soft landing."
There is always a 12-18 month time lag between rate increases and reductions before their effect becomes apparent in the economy.
