Decent Write-Up from Courthouse News Service
quote:

The student group first sued Texas A&M and members of its Board of Regents March 5 after the university banned the show Feb. 28, after tickets had already been sold.

In addressing the Board’s argument that the content of the Draggieland show would be offensive, Rosenthal provided yet another short rejection.

“It is a ticketed event; only those who want to attend do so. Anyone who finds the performance or performers offensive has a simple remedy: don’t go," she said.

This isn't a 'campy' Rocky Horror Picture Show type event. And you know this much too well.
I've never attended.

Apparently you have?

I suspect that it is primarily men dressed as women, singing show tunes. Is that your experience?

So you are saying you don't know. So why say anything?
Knowing nothing has never stopped anyone else here from posting, has it?

It least mine was a reasonable inference from known facts ... and ultimately correct.

Reading between the lines, I suspect that there was a contract in place for use of the venue, and the System tried to back out of that contract based upon the directives issued by Trump and Abbott.

Liberal schools have backed out of contracts with conservative speakers many times. But when it's a liberal's contract, then it's wrong. What venue would rent space without a clause to back out for public image or legal reasons?

So after your initial perceived 'gotcha' response, you came back to it almost an hour later to edit. Which to me seems that you are covering up something by trying to deflect.

I am aware of the Rocky Horror Picture Show movie as I grew up in a small Texas near Austin/SA back in the 70s and was made aware of it through TV commercials, etc., but have never seen it. It was widely promoted back then and I believe is to this day it still has a cult-like following.

My question would be why do you always jump onto threads involving current trans related issues? And supporting directly or indirectly the continuation of such nonsense that has infiltrated society today related to, topics such as trans infiltrating women's sports, or drag queens involved in the education of kids (such as 'story time'). BTW, why aren't there reports of drag queens reading stories/supporting folks in rest homes? Why is the target always kids? Hmmmmmm?

I suspect you will respond and state you have never supported any of the specifics pointed out in the above paragraph, however the fact remains that you, for some reason, gravitates like a chicken to a June bug to trans-related posts.

If a response is made, I expect one that is a snarky response with insults pieced in here and there. For all to see.

Well, looks like we can save a boatload of money by disbanding the Executive Branch, Congress, state legislatures, governors, County Commissioners, City Councils, Boards of Regents, etc. Why spend all of that money when we're just going to be ruled by a handful of activist judges anyway?
