That's a fair point.
In my personal anecdotal experience though, it's the liberal minority faction of my family circle that are the ones who have stopped coming around and/or extending invites. It's almost 100%. We still show up if they happen to invite us for anything, and we still invite them to everything. But they just don't show up. All started with covid, and they haven't come back.
