This doesn’t look good. We’ll see how this plays out.

How he suddenly heard the police at the very moment they opened the door seems odd to me.

For 10 minutes prior to the cops opening the door there was screaming and dogs barking, but he suddenly woke up with the door being opened? Very strange.

You never know i know some very deep sleepers he could have been on medication, or drunk passed out. Either way no excuse to shoot this man in his bed and kill him. Cop should be done for and his family should get a nice pay day. Raids at 2 in morning need to stop

Im usually on the cop side but this officer panicked and messed up and he's going to lose his job and possibly worse

It just seems odd he woke up precisely at the very second the cops opened the door after all the commotion. And the cop firing the round seemed panicked too esp with the immediate holstering.

The entire episode seems very weird on multiple levels from multiple perspectives.

Damn that is tough.

I can see both sides of this one.

The way his right hand swung around after popping up like that could be seen as a threat w/ a gun from the cops pov, but there was no gun at all.

I really hate shite like this.

I guess the cop interpreted the right arm moving forward as a threat to his life. I don't think that is easily explained. What he did or didn't do in the moments leading up to the shooting isn't relevant. Sure the criminal is a bad person and needed to be in jail but surely they could have watched the apartment tomorrow when everyone was presumably sober and then attempted contacting him. Multiple bad decisions by law enforcement.

Not a good situation.

My initial instinct is to always give the cop the benefit of a doubt. This one is not easy to do. Why were the cops there in the first place?

Police have more in common with special forces than their communities these days. Can we look in to stopping the door busting raids all together?

The police have the resources to surprise thes guys and arest them safely in public but they get such a hard on when they get to bulldoze some two bit drug users front door.

These raids remind me of how Waco could have been avoided entirely if they had just arrested David Koresh while he was out on his daily run.

Domestic violence, assault, improper handling of a firearm. Can't imagine why the cops were on edge.

Yea that cop is screwed and rightfully so. Personally I wish all peeps who don’t comply would take a shot to the noggin, but being scared of what the potential perp may have shouldn’t equal a death sentence.

This doesn't look good for the cops. He fired and identified no threat other than a moving arm, then holstered his weapon as if no threat.

Fair enough. It just seems shitty that cops go into dude's apartment with guns drawn as if they're clearing a terrorist's hideout.

Hell, our military has stricter rules of engagement.

It's like Columbus Ohio is a breeding ground for this kind of shite.

From what I saw the cop was wrong. Is Columbus next on the 'burn this bitch down' list?

Cop thought he was going to be shot.

It's actually a good, clean justified shooting.

Comply or die. It's as simple as that.

I don't think the shoot is lawful. I think the officer should have to answer for it.
